Friendship & Kindness Week
10-14 November 2025
Following on from the renaming of our annual ‘Anti-Bullying Week’ to ‘Friendship & Kindness Week’, (in order to focus more upon the positive behaviours that we are aiming to encourage from the children) I thought you might like some details about the organisation of the week.
We will still mark Anti-Bullying Week through the Jigsaw sessions taught, but our whole school display will focus upon friendship and kindness.
Our ‘Friendship & Kindness’ week will take place between Monday 10 – Friday 14 November 2025 to coincide with Anti-Bullying week dates.
Activities for the week
Anti-Bullying Week 2025 – Parent Information Tool Pack
The Anti-Bullying Alliance provide a useful parent tool pack. Here is a hyperlink which takes you straight to this information; ABW Parent Tool Kit 2025 it contains lots of helpful tips about what to do if you’re worried about bullying, and provides you with tools that will help you to talk to your children about bullying.
Please note: Our Academy will not be organising the ‘Wear Odd Socks Day’ detailed within the parent pack.
We hope that the week will be a great success and that the children will gain a greater understanding of the impact that kind behaviour can have on everyone.
This week we are focusing on
Black History Month
The children will have the opportunity to discuss significant people and how they have contributed to major events within our lives.
Please take a look at our website to see a reading list of books that help younger children understand and celebrate diversity and culture.
The focus this year is "Standing Firm in Power and Pride".

Welcome Back!
It has been wonderful to welcome back our Year 1 and Year 2 children this week and to see how much they have grown during the summer break! We have been so pleased to see how well they have all returned to school and how positive they have been about their learning.
The new Reception and Nursery children have been equally fantastic and they have come into school looking really smart and keen to join in with all the activities; we are looking forward to seeing the remaining Reception children throughout the week for their inductions!
I hope that all of our children continue to enjoy their time at MGIA and that if you are new to the Academy, that you quickly feel part of our community.
