Week Beginning 06.07.2020

Hello everyone,

We all hope you are staying safe and well. Did you enjoy completing the home learning for Marston Green Junior School last week? If you enjoyed the story, Almost Anything, by Sophy Henn, you might like to follow this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFK_PLg0FYk and watch Sophy read another of her stories to you; she also shows you how to draw the main character. Take a look.

The story Sophy reads is called ‘Super Duper You’ and this ties in really well with our topic at this time of the school year, Its Good to be me! As we are all thinking about transition to Key Stage 2, it is a really good time to think about who we are. Celebrate what we feel we do well, consider things we might need to improve at, talk about things that worry us and listen to others when they offer advice or help. It is important to remember that we are all different and something one person finds tricky or worries about, another person may not. As the story explains, we change as we grow, and that’s normal but remember you are unique and special – there is only one you!

Our home learning this week is all about how we change, attitudes to life and learning and that we can change our own attitudes and approaches with positive thinking. The English and PSD activities are all linked this week so please start with English so you are familiar with the story first.

We hope you enjoy the story and activities this week,

The Year 2 Team
