These are our Nursery High 5 rules...

Library

We have now started our 'Nursery Lending Library' to encourage a love of reading with the children. Our 'Reading for Pleasure' sessions include the children browsing available books and sitting quietly to look through their chosen book at the pictures. We then share what we enjoyed about the story, make predictions for what might happen next or how we could change the ending. We also encourage the children to share if there was something in the book they did not like and to explain why. It is important for the children to know from an early age they are not expected to like all books, but by reading a range of stories they will learn which styles they enjoy.

Please feel free to share any comments or achievements from your child's reading experiences with the teachers via SeeSaw or written on a Superstar card.

The children will be choosing a new library book each Friday, so please ensure that your child comes to school with their current book in their bag on this day to receive a new one.
