Phonics

Review phonemes: zz, qu (the YouTube links below may help). Tricky words: you, was, my. Can you recognise them? Spell? Put into a sentence?

Discuss phoneme and grapheme. Children to write the grapheme down – encourage cursive font.
Children to practice writing the words:

     buzz,       queen,       
     quick,      quack.
Write the sentences: The duck will quack. The bee will buzz.

Adult directed activity -  Expressive Arts

Create a bridge (or multiple different kinds!) – you could use blocks or lego to build or join materials together e.g. cardboard, paper and lollipop sticks. Does glue or tape work better to hold it together? Could you use any objects in your home to create a bridge for your teddies/toys?

Home reading - child to read  (choose a book from Oxford owl linked to your child’s ability)

Children to read the Billy Goats Gruff story map using the Talk 4 Writing actions. 
Discuss the setting of the story and why the goats want to cross the bridge to the other side.
