Review phonemes for today: h, b, f, ff. Spell tricky words: was, you, they.

Discuss phoneme (the sound) and grapheme (letter name). Children to write the grapheme down.

Orally segment: biff, bat, fog, his. Children to write the initial sound that they can hear in each word: biff, bat, fog, his. Shared write whole words.

Using the attached number line can you put a counter (or a coin, button, pasta piece) on a number. Can your child work out 2 more/ less than that number by moving the counter forwards/ backwards. Repeat for different numbers.
