Phonics

Review phonemes for today: x, y, z. Sing the Alphabet song.

Tricky words: they, all, are. Can you recognise them? Spell? Put into a sentence?

Recap: x, y, z - Discuss phoneme (the sound) and grapheme (letter name). Children to write the grapheme down.  Shared read the CVC words: ox, fox, yam, zen.

Play Dragons Den (phonics play) Resources>Phase 3>Dragons Den>Phase 3>+z/zz.

Read the sentence: The ox and the fox.

Adult directed activity Literacy

Read the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff again and discuss the main events of the story.

Can you work with your child to cut and stick the pictures in the right order on the attached story map.

Home reading - child to read  (choose a book from Oxford owl linked to your child’s ability)

Outdoor play

Bike ride

Go for a bike or scooter ride in your garden or around your local area/park. You could use a real bike or scooter if you have one, or pretend to ride on an imaginary bike. Hold your arms out in front of you like holding the handlebars, and move your legs in a cycling action as you move around the garden. Don’t forget to avoid any obstacles!

Talk 4 Writing Story Time

Children to read the Billy Goats Gruff story using the Talk 4 Writing actions. (See video on See-Saw) 
Discuss the characters in the story, including who they are and what they are doing.
