Waiting for Change
Explain to your child we are thinking about Change.
Discuss what your child likes to change – at school, at home, in their environment, in the world? Why? Are they things that can be changed quickly or would the change take time?
Has your child ever had to wait for something (a holiday, an outing, Christmas)? How did they feel? What about something they were not looking forward to – how did they feel then? Consider excitement, anticipation, dread, apprehension etc.
Explore the need for patience when waiting for change and making the most of every day.
Read The New Baby (Please see attachment for story as a PDF/PowerPoint) – Discuss the story linking it to waiting for change.
Invite your child to join in with the Lord’s Prayer:
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.
