Carpet Sessions 08/01/21

* Introduction of 'The Train Ride' - the Story Map, Model Text and a video of us telling the story along with the actions has been posted to Seesaw.

We shall be creating our own large class story map to use when retelling the story.

Purpose: To talk about the different sounds that we can make with our voices

Provide small mirrors for the children to observe their faces, lips, teeth and tongue as they make different speech sounds and experiment with their voices.

 

For example:-

‘blobalobalob’

‘brrrrr’ ‘mamamamama’ ‘shhhh’

 

Encourage the children to suggest new sounds to try.

Make a megaphone from rolled up card & tape.  Do they sound any different using the megaphone?

Where's the Monkey?

Using the song to learn positional language. We hid our own teddy Monkey in different positions around the classroom and used positional language to describe where he was.
