Welcome to Class 8!

 

Miss Taylor and Mrs Johnson welcome you to Class 8's page!

 

Our topic this half term is The Great Fire of London. We will be learning about how the fire spread through London in September 1666; we will be writing diary entries, writing newspaper reports and creating a class museum. 

 

Also this his half term we will be visiting the allotment, doing Yogabugs and observing animal growth.

The Class 8 choir have been working very hard to learn Easter songs to perform at the Easter Coffee Morning and in Church - they all sang really well and had a lot of fun performing with some very funny actions!

We visited St Leonard's Church for an Easter service and also to look at the different Crosses found in church

English Inspire Workshop

The children have enjoyed making their very own puppet. First the children chose which character they wanted to make from the Shakespeare play Macbeth, they then designed this in their sketch books. Once the children were happy with their design they began to sew their puppet, for many children this was the first time they had done any sewing and they enjoyed learning the new skill. Here are some pictures of the finished products - see if you can work out which character the puppets are!!

We created African villages

African Drum and Dance Workshop

Today we have had a lovely day exploring the sounds of an African Drum, creating different rhythms at different tempos and dynamics. The dancing was good fun too!!! Thank you to all those of the parents who joined us in our assembly at the end of the day to watch us perform, we hope you enjoyed joining in the fun!!!

After watching the pantomime the children in class 8 wanted to make masks and do their own performances of Goldilocks and the Three Bears!!!

The day the pantomime came to school...the children enjoyed watching Goldilocks and the Three Bears today!

Class 8 had an Elf come from the North Pole in the lead up to Christmas - Mr Jingles got up to lots of mischief!!!!
