World Book Day

We all dressed up as our favourite book characters for world book week. All of the costumes looked fantastic. See if you can tell which books we all took inspiration from.

Autumn Term
After the half term holidays we all came back to school feeling refreshed and ready to learn. Our new topic is all about 'Bears'. So far we have looked at real bears and used non-fiction books to find out lots of information. We discussed what a non-fiction book is and the difference between fiction and non-fiction.
We have started our working wall for this topic, so  far we have listed all of the things class 3 know about bears followed by a list of things we would like to find out. Maybe you could help to research some bear facts at home.

Keep checking back to see what exciting learning we do next.

Welcome to Class 3, we have all been very busy so far settling in to our new class. We have had lots of names to learn and lovely new friends to meet. We had lots of circle times to get to know more about our new friends and we all worked together to create our class promises. The class promises are our special school rules that make our classroom a fun and safe environment.

We started the year with our first topic 'Under the Sea'. We have looked at some of the creatures that live in the sea and made super paintings, collages, clay models and did lots of reading and counting.

For each topic we all think of a question that we would like to find out about, we take this home to research with our grown-ups and then come back to school to tell our friends what we found out. You all thought of some wonderful under the sea questions and we had lots of brilliant work that came back to school!

Have a look below at some of the pictures showing the learning in our class.

Jolly Phonics songs

In our phonics lessons we are learning new phonemes (letter sounds) and graphemes (letter names) each day. Here is a video of the Jolly Phonics songs we use in class and the actions that go with each sound.
I am sure the children will be happy to teach you all of them!
